Puu Ualakaa State Park
Located on Mount Tantalus, the Puu Ualakaa State Park is unarguably the best place in Oahu to witness the sunrise. The park offers a vibrant view of the sunrise on the right and Honolulu on the left. You can sit on the grassy patches spread all over the park and enjoy the breathtaking view of the sun rising in the east
Situated on the east side of Oahu, Lanikai Pillboxes offer a great vantage point to witness the glory of sunrise. If you want to witness the sunrise from the top of pillboxes, you’ll just have to strap on a headlamp and hike up to the bunkers. It usually takes around 20-30 minutes to reach the first bunker, and another 10-15 minutes to reach the second one. Both the bunkers offer a splendid view of the sunrise and the famous Kailua twin islands.
Being located near to the shore, Sandy Beach offers an ecstatic view of the sunrise. But proximity to the beach isn’t the only reason why this beach is so famous. The mind-soothing ambience make it a must-visit destination for anyone willing to witness the glory of sunrise. The most exciting part is that you can choose to view the sunrise from the rocks, tide pools, or big waves carrying surfers and bodyboarders.

May to September is the best time for the Makapuu Lighthouse trail.
Located on the Western side of Oahu, the Kaena Point offers a splendid view of the sunrise. The best part is that it remains sparsely populated. Once here, you’ll have the complete liberty to experience the sunset in peace. The natural lava shoreline and tidepools here offer superb viewing positions and attract landscape photographers from all parts of the world.
